Frequently Asked Questions

Team RAL – Front of House Manager, Covent Garden WC2

1

What does a Front of House Manager do at a London restaurant?

A Front of House Manager oversees the entire guest-facing operation of a restaurant — from welcoming diners and managing reservations to leading the floor team, resolving service issues in the moment, and ensuring every guest leaves with a five-star impression. In a Covent Garden venue, this also means managing high-volume theatre-dining covers, coordinating VIP and pre-theatre bookings, and upholding the premium service standards that London's competitive dining scene demands. The FOH Manager is the guardian of the guest experience, the first face visitors see, and the calm at the centre of the dining room storm.

2

How does Team RAL place candidates in hospitality jobs across London?

Team RAL matches pre-vetted hospitality professionals with London's leading restaurants and venues through a personalised, consultant-led process. After registering on our jobs portal, a dedicated consultant will review your experience, understand your career goals, and introduce you directly to the right client — often within 24–48 hours. We handle CV guidance, interview preparation, salary negotiation, and offer management. There is absolutely no fee for candidates at any stage.

3

What salary can a Front of House Manager expect in Central London?

In Central London, experienced FOH Managers typically earn between £38,000 and £48,000 per year, with service charge adding anywhere from £4,000 to £8,000 depending on the venue's cover count and tronc structure. Group-level roles at larger restaurant operators or hotel restaurants can exceed £55,000 for those with multi-site management experience. Team RAL always negotiates the strongest possible package on your behalf, using up-to-date market rate benchmarking.

4

Is fine dining experience essential for the Covent Garden FOH Manager role?

Fine dining or premium brasserie experience is strongly preferred, but not always a dealbreaker. Our client values leadership ability, emotional intelligence, and a genuine love for hospitality as much as the prestige of where you have worked before. Candidates from high-volume casual dining backgrounds who can demonstrate measurable team performance improvements, guest satisfaction scores, or successful venue turnarounds are actively encouraged to register. A personal licence and WSET wine qualification are bonuses but not requirements — the client invests in the right people.

5

How quickly can Team RAL arrange an interview for this role?

Team RAL moves quickly by design. Qualified candidates are typically introduced to the hiring client within 24–48 hours of initial registration, with first-stage interviews arranged the same week in most cases. For this particular Covent Garden FOH Manager role, the client is keen to appoint ahead of a flagship launch, so the timeline is especially compressed. If you are serious about this opportunity, contact our team today to fast-track your application.
